Renewable Energy
Wind power generation, which uses a wind turbine to convert the inexhaustible power of the wind to electric energy
It is an environmentally-friendly method for generating electric power day and night as long as there is sufficient wind and does not emit greenhouse gases during power generation.
In wind power generation equipment, wind turbine blades receive wind force to rotate the rotor and its rotational speed is increased with a speed-increasing gear housed in the turbine. This rapid rotation is fed into a generator to generate electric power. The wind turbine is controlled by a computer based on data from wind velocity/direction sensors inside the nacelle (a casing that houses the major components such as a speed-increasing gear, a generator, and a control computer).
